EASY BERRY BEAUTIFUL CHOCOLATES [PALEO, RAW, GLUTEN-FREE, DAIRY-FREE]

My “other” true love. I love chocolate on the daily, but like the REAL chocolate-y chocolate, without milkfat and loads of sugar. Not easy to find at the store, but guess what?! You can freakin make your own HEALTHY and DELISH chocolates with whatever extras you want, at home with only 4 ingredients! 😆 Check out these beautiful BERRY CHOCOLATES made with cacao powder.
What’s the difference between cacao powder and unsweetened cocoa powder found in most baking isles?
Cacao powder (not cocoa) is made by cold-pressing raw cocoa beans, keeping the living enzymes and removing the fat. This is what researchers are referring to when they boast chocolate’s amazing health benefits. Cocoa powder has been roasted at high temps, lowering anti-oxidant content and nutritional value. Subbing cocoa powder on this recipe will work but have a bit less chocolate flavor. Cacao is sold in most health food stores and even Walmart. Try making these easy, delicious, and totally customizable (is that even a word?) chocolates at home and comment with your favorite chocolate flavor combo.
Berry Beautiful Chocolates
-3 Tbsp melted coconut oil
-2 Tbsp creamy almond butter
-2 Tbsp cacao powder
-1 Tbsp pure maple syrup (or 20 flavored stevia drops for sugar-free)
Optional:-1/4 tsp vanilla extract
Optional add-ins: Berries or chopped nuts.
(Hazelnut stevia and blackberries are my fav combo)
Makes 9 mini-muffin sized chocolates.
1. Melt coconut oil and almond butter together in medium bowl and stir until smooth.
2. Add in cacao powder and sweetener, stir well.
3. Place in 9 mini muffin liners or silicone molds and gently add berries or nuts as desired.
4. Freeze 20 minutes and store in fridge since the coconut oil can become liquid at room temps.
Approx. 72 calories, 3.2g carbs each with maple syrup, and 65 calories and 1.7g carbs each with stevia; 6.7g Fat, 1g Protein.
These beauties can be made sugar-free by using liquid stevia drops. I like to use an alcohol-free stevia, vanilla or hazelnut flavors are an amazing addition to these chocolates. click here to see what alcohol-free stevia I like to use.
